Youri Wentzel returns as CEO to guide SeaQurrent’s next chapter

After spending the past year as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Youri Wentzel is resuming his role as CEO of SeaQurrent. During this time, he focused fully on advancing the company’s core technology: the TidalKite System.

While Youri led on the technical front, Maarten Berkhout and Sjouke Tjalsma stepped into the CEO role, and maintaining a strong commitment to its mission of accelerating the energy transition through reliable tidal energy.

“This past year gave me the chance to focus on what lies at the heart of SeaQurrent: our technology,” says Youri. “We’ve made real progress in making the TidalKite System more robust, scalable and prepared for demonstration in real-world conditions. I’m thankful to Maarten and Sjouke for taking over the CEO responsibilities and leading SeaQurrent with vision and commitment.”
