Purpose-driven Marketing and Communication Professional (32-40 hours/week)

Our purpose is to realise a more sustainable future. We believe that the mix of existing energy solutions for zero-emission is incomplete. So we are developing the TidalKite, a revolutionary underwater kite that captures the steady energy of the tides.

To achieve our mission of making tidal kite energy a mainstream solution within a decade, we are looking for a marketing and communication professional who wants to make a sustainable impact.

Your role

You will play a crucial role in driving the growth of our innovative scale-up company. Responsible for creating awareness of SeaQurrent and our TidalKite system, you will tell the world of our existence, identify and inform key stakeholder groups, and develop strategies to spark their interest and support for our mission. Purpose-driven and strategic, you will seize opportunities, think critically about the best approaches, and execute the necessary tasks to make them happen.

You will contribute to the execution and refinement of our marketing communication strategy, creating brand-consistent content and campaigns for various media channels and purposes. Your work will be diverse, and you will take ownership of your responsibilities. An energetic self-starter with a proactive mindset will thrive in this role.

About SeaQurrent

Seven years ago, we embarked on a journey to revolutionise clean energy with the development of TidalKite. This scalable, safe, and eco-friendly energy solution has undergone several iterations, and we are now in the process of refining our fourth model, set to be demonstrated near Ameland.

Our innovative kite technology 'flies' through the current perpendicular to the flow, harnessing an impressive lift force that is converted into electricity through a state-of-the-art power-take-off system. What sets our technology apart is its wide deployment potential, making it applicable for power generation on multiple locations across the globe.


Join our dynamic team and engage in a wide range of marketing and communication activities typically handled by specialized roles in larger departments. This diverse role includes both strategic and operational tasks, ensuring every day is exciting and challenging.  That means balancing immediate tasks with longer-term projects that build our brand. Success requires a keen eye for detail, strong self-management, organization, and prioritization skills. Your responsibilities will be tailored to your background and experience, allowing us to leverage the team's expertise, so please apply even if you can’t tick all the items.

Here’s an overview of all the things we do in the team:

  • Corporate Communication: Develop and coordinate (internal and crisis) communication, press publications and marketing materials to engage stakeholders.
  • Sales Support: Develop and execute marketing campaigns to build a strong marketing/sales funnel.
  • Employer Branding and providing recruitment support; job fairs, job promotion, etc.
  • Funding Support: Grant writing and proofreading to enhance proposal narratives – develop supporting materials, such as: videos, a pitch deck, teaser and Investor memorandum.
  • Branding: Develop the (visual) corporate identity and create brand-consistent content and messaging.
  • Database Management: Develop and manage a database for campaign efficiency.
  • Network Building: Expand our marketing network through traditional and digital methods.
  • Industry Monitoring: Research industry news, social media, and blogs for trends and content ideas to improve outreach and messaging.
  • Social Media Management: Monitor and manage social media platforms.
  • Event Organization: Organize (own) events and trade shows.

Our successful candidate profile

  • A pro-active, autonomous self-starter with > 5 years experience
  • Degree (Bachelor’s/Master’s) in Marketing/Communications or equivalent
  • A person who writes well, translating complex information and value propositions into effective messages and visualisations that can be easily understood by all audiences
  • A creative thinker who loves developing new ideas and takes pride in executing them well
  • Someone who enjoys working with multiple internal and external stakeholders on various marketing communication topics
  • Not afraid to take responsibility, adept in managing work/projects and timelines of the team  and yourself
  • Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
